What can I expect?
Two couples. A web of lies. And absolutely nobody telling the truth.
Love, marriage and infidelity become a deliciously tangled affair in The Truth, the brilliantly witty comedy by Oscar-winning playwright Florian Zeller, the acclaimed writer behind The Father.
Michel is having an affair with Alice. Alice is married to Paul, Michel's best friend. And Michel? He's married to Laurence. It's a complicated arrangement, but Michel is convinced that a well-placed lie is often far kinder than the truth.
There's just one little problem.
Michel may not be the only one keeping secrets.
As suspicions grow and conversations take unexpected turns, Michel finds himself caught in an increasingly hilarious web of half-truths, misunderstandings and carefully concealed betrayals. And the harder he tries to keep everything under control, the more spectacularly his carefully constructed world begins to unravel.
Back by popular demand following a sold-out West End run, The Truth reunites its acclaimed cast: Stephen Mangan (The Split, Episodes), Ardal O'Hanlon (Father Ted, Death in Paradise), Sarah Hadland (Miranda, Strictly Come Dancing) and Olivier Award-winning Janie Dee.
Translated by acclaimed playwright Christopher Hampton and directed by Lindsay Posner, this razor-sharp comedy returns to London's West End at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, where love, loyalty and honesty are put to the ultimate test.
Four brilliant performers. One tangled web of lies. 90 minutes of deliciously wicked comedy.
Come for the laughs, stay for the lies – and don't believe a word anyone says.
