What can I expect?
Experience Othello as you’ve never seen it before in a bold, visceral new production of Shakespeare’s searing tragedy.
David Harewood OBE (Homeland), returns to the role that made history—becoming the first Black actor to play Othello at the National Theatre. He’s joined by Toby Jones OBE (Mr Bates vs the Post Office), delivering a magnetic turn as the manipulative Iago, and Caitlin Fitzgerald (Succession) as the ill-fated Desdemona.
Directed by Tony Award-winner Tom Morris and featuring a haunting score by PJ Harvey, this electrifying adaptation dives deep into the corrosive power of jealousy, ambition, and betrayal. Othello holds a mirror to our darkest instincts, revealing the fragile line between love and ruin.
With a powerhouse cast and a visionary creative team, this is Shakespeare reimagined for our times—urgent, thrilling, and unforgettable.
