Opening September 2025 at London’s renowned Bridge Theatre, The Lady from the Sea is a modern, emotionally charged adaptation of Henrik Ibsen’s classic play. Written and directed by Simon Stone, this intense new version dives deep into themes of desire, identity, and the human longing for freedom.
At the heart of the story is Ellida – a woman torn between the safety of her present life and the call of a long-lost love. In a remote coastal home, a surprise arrival forces her to confront the life she has chosen and the one she once dreamed of.
Leading the cast is Oscar-winning Swedish star Alicia Vikander, known for standout roles in The Danish Girl, Ex Machina, and Jason Bourne. She makes a triumphant return to the stage in this unforgettable role. She is joined by Andrew Lincoln, beloved for his performances in Love Actually and The Walking Dead.
